Spicy Tuna Sandwich – Homemade Joe & The Juice
This homemade spicy tuna sandwich is inspired by Joe and The Juice and is a simple tasty high-protein healthy lunch recipe. You can top this tuna mix on some toasted sourdough like an open sandwich, or stuff it into wholemeal toasted pitta bread.
Joe And The Juice Style Spicy Tuna Sandwich
This homemade spicy tuna open sandwich is inspired by the Joe and The Juice one and is a easy tasty high protein healthy lunch option.

Ingredients
- 1 wholemeal pitta bread
- 2 tbsp basil pesto
- 6-8 pickled jalapeños from the jar
- 1 can of spring water tuna 100g drained
- 2 tbsp light mayonnaise
- 1 cup fresh dill
Instructions
- Drain the tinned tuna, add it to a bowl, and mix with light mayonnaise, pesto, finely chopped jalapeños and a cup of chopped fresh dill. Mash it all together with a fork till it is well combined. You can add more jalapeños if you like it spicy or more mayo to your own taste.
- Halve and toast the pitta bread.
- Stuff the toasted pitta halves with tuna mix, top with more fresh dill and a sprinkle of ground black pepper.
Notes
If you want to make this lower fat swap the low fat mayo for a light natural yogurt.
