Make Crispy Oven Baked Chicken Recipe Without an Air Fryer
No airfryer needed. This is for those that would like a lower fat crispy chicken but don’t have an airfryer. Coated in a crispy cornflake crust, this healthier alternative to fried chicken has a satisfying crunch without the added fat. Baked to crispy perfection, the chicken remains juicy inside and is ideal for a healthy weeknight or weekend dinner. A low calorie crispy chicken, perfect to slice up in wraps, have on top of salads, or teamed with side dishes.
The Recipe
Crispy Oven Baked Chicken
Ingredients
- oil spray 15-20 oil sprays
- 4 medium chicken breasts
- 100 g cornflakes
- 2 tsp cayenne powder
- 2 tsp smoked paprika
- ground black pepper
- salt
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- Blend the cornflakes till finely crushed and add to bow. Season and mix with a little salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic granules and cayenne or chilli powder if you like a little heat.
- Trim and prep your chicken breasts and add them to a bowl. Season and marinate with a little salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic granules and cayenne or chilli powder if you like a little heat.
- Add a whisked egg to the bowl of chicken and combine.
- Pre heat the oven to 180°C or 350°F. Line an oven tray with baking paper.
- Pour out the cornflakes on a plate. Dip egg coated chicken breast in the cornflake mix both sides till it’s all covered and lay it on the oven tray.
- Repeat till all chicken breasts are coated.
- Cook in the oven for 27 minutes (or till cooked).
